Mr. Ye Lei, STIG delegation leader, presented their investment plans on electric vehicle charging systems, parking management systems which integrate bus depots and public parking spaces as well as BRT systems for Shanghai.

Recently, a 3 years ITS project has been approved for shanghai and so STIG is planning the modernization of 25 Public Transport Stations and 30 Central Stations.

Since 2000, Shanghai has invested 10 bn USD with weak results. For that reason they are visiting Portugal to learn with our local experiences.

The presence of Prof. José Mendes, Secretary of State Attached to the Environment Minister, was an excellent opportunity to understand the governmental policy to decarbonise the transportation economy in the years to come within the national and European legal frameworks.

The 2005/2020, 14% reduction on GHG foreseen in Portugal will be a result of the change on transport modes used together with a policy to increase the adoption of Electric Vehicles to guarantee a major decarbonisation of transport.

To that extend Portuguese Government is implementing an Electric Mobility Program based on 4 pillars: Charging network, Management model, support to EV acquisition and Decarbonization guidance.
